Personal statement
Pediatrics is the field where my clinical interests, temperament, and way of communicating with people meet. During my pediatrics rotation, I was drawn to the moment when a worried parent begins to understand what is happening to their child and feels reassured enough to ask the right questions. That experience shaped my goal of becoming a pediatrician who not only diagnoses and treats children, but also supports the families who care for them.
My background in teaching research methodology and biostatistics has strengthened my ability to explain complex information clearly, while my research experience has trained me to think carefully, question assumptions, and practice evidence-based medicine.
